Dasa Namana 2012


CFAA  is excited to announce  our support of

the 2nd annual Naada's  "Daasa Namana" event for the year 2012


On Sunday Feb 19th, 2012   

from 2 pm to  6pm
At Broomfield Auditorium, 
Broomfield, CO  



In the spirit of remembering and celebrating the Haridasa's of 15th Century who gave us devotional Dasa Sahitya called Dasarapadas, we invite you to attend an afternoon filled with classical style compositions rendered by various artists in the area.

The following are the requirements set forth.
  • Compostion to be a Haridasa sahitya. A few examples of great composers are Sri Purandara Dasaru, Sri Kanaka Dasaru, Sri Gopala Dasaru , Sri Vyasa Rayaru.
  • Rendering to be in classical style (Carnatic or Hindustani)
  • Any accompaniments to be decided and co-ordinated by participants/teachers
  • Duration to be under 5 minutes per participant
  • Competency level for students to be at or above Varna stage.

Since pronunciation is key to meaning and emotion of the compositions, it is best to consult those who know the language. We are open to helping or connecting you with the lyrics.



Please note that we would like to encourage as many participants as possible and with the given time constraints there may be a possibility that we would request group performances based on RSVP's. To help us with co-ordination we humbly request the PARTICIPATION-RSVP deadline of January 7th, 2012 to be taken very seriously.

We do need volunteers in helping with organizing, planning and executing this event and would appreciate it if you would let us know in your RSVP's if you are interested in helping out in any way.  Please forward email to anyone else you know who may be interested in attending or participating.    The event flyer is attached.

Rhapsody 2011

A Great Event Celebrating the First Year of CFAA took place on Nov 19th afternoon at the Aurora Central High School.


The event was intended to be an annual report out to the patrons of CFAA on our achievements and accomplishments in 2011.


We also shared a lot of information on what is coming up in the years to come

Rhapsody 2011



The board of directors of CFAA would like to cordially invite you and your family to our year ending  classical music and dance program - Rhapsody 2011. This event presents one of the greatest set of local Indian Classical artists ever assembled. The program itself is a unique presentation of Carnatic & Hindustani music with Indian Classical dance pieces skillfully stitched together. 

Expect to see great vocalists performing some exquisite pieces with the support of our best percussionists as well as Veena, Violin , Guitar and keyboards.

The event takes place on Nov 19th, Saturday at the Aurora Central High School auditorium, 11700, East 11th Ave, Aurora, CO, 80010

Grammy Nominated Chandrika Krishnamurthy in Boulder


Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon, nominated for a Grammy award this year, is coming to Boulder on 11/3 for a benefit concert.

Below is a short description of the event.

Chandrika Tandon will perform an innovative repertoire of classical chants combining her intensive training in Hindustani and Carnatic Indian music with western rhythms and percussion in an easily accessible way. The concert will include selections from her Grammy-nominated album, Soul Call, which was an eight syllable healing chant for wellness, from her new album (Soul March), and other pieces.

Ms. Tandon will be accompanied by her Soul Chants ensemble which consists of 7- 8 musicians playing eastern and western instruments - including the flute; saxophone; sitar; tabla; mridangam; guitar; keyboard - and will include local musicians and singers in the concert as well.
